A RECORD 25 films have been entered in this year's Australian Film Institute Awards, up from an average of 15.
The AFI this year relaxed its criteria to allow films that hadn't secured distribution to enter. "We've now got a lot more enterprising young filmmakers in the slate with the more established film practitioners," AFI general manager Damian Trewhella said.
